Keningau: (DE) A woman gave birth in a cab with the help of a cab driver while on the way to Kota Kinabalu.

In the incident which happened last month, the woman had boarded the taxi here and complained of pain when the cab reached Mile 16, Jalan Kimanis, about 25km from town.

The 38-year-old taxi driver, Arsin Kansi, realising she could no longer hold it and that they were far from any medical facility, decided to take matters into his own hands.

"I had to stop the car and help the woman deliver the baby because I was worried about the woman's and her baby's condition," the said, adding several passers-by also helped him deliver the baby.

After the baby was born, Arsin turned back and took them both here for medical attention.
